Boys' High I.H.C. Relay

Twelve boys from the Boys' High School, under the supervision of physical education master John McFarlane, made a relay run to Wellington to raise funds for the Intellectually Handicapped Children's Society.

Leaving Gisborne on Wednesday, May 3, the boys reached Wellington on Monday, May 8.

They slept each night in a truck supplied gratis by Clare and Clare, the petrol for which was supplied by the Shell Co.

Appealing for funds in each town through which they passed, the boys raised £200 for the I.H.C. fund.
