At the charter dinner of the Christchurch North Lions held recently Cyril Chitty was charter president, while chairman of the function was Doug Armstrong, immediate past president of the Christchurch West branch.

District governor Sealy Wells and Cyril Chitty (left), above, are shown with the Lions charter and below are Doug and Margo Armstrong.

Bruce is the son of Mr Douglas Dyer, 714 Gladstone Road, and Susan is the younger daughter of Mr and Mrs H. R. Hawthorne, 18 Domett Street.

He is Basil Adair who is shown being fitted with his regalia by past Rangatira Herb Duckworth.

Yvonne Winchester has started a dance studio and enrolments have been very good, which is not surprising perhaps as young people are beginning to realise that one can't go-go on for ever and true dancing is an art which needs learning and practice.

Lee Ruscoe, Jan Barber, Lynne Jones, Janet Quilter, Robert Preddy, Ian Thain and Geoff Brophy learn a basic step from Yvonne.
