The only pity is that there are not more girls taking up this noble profession.

After receiving the badge and citation from Miss W. O'Halloran, Poverty Bay district commissioner, Noeline also received her cadet insignia which enables her to train for leadership in the Guide movement Congratulations, Noeline.

Four nurses graduated from the Cook Hospital on March 14 at the simple and impressive ceremony which takes place on these occasions.

From Mrs C. Grayson, Te Puia, comes this pic of Mrs W. Kirikiri taking over from Miss S. Apanui at the Te Araroa telephone exchange on February 15, the day the service there became continuous. So if you feel like ringing someone in that northern town at 3AM you are perfectly welcome to do so.
