Introducing...

...Tom Watson is the Gisborne City Council's Superintendent of Reserves. A grandfather, Tom lives at 13 Willow Street with his wife, and is the father of a married son and daughter. He came to Gisborne from Sussex in 1949, follows cricket and ball games, and is a keen first-year golfer on a 19 handicap at the Park Club.

....Gordon Button is the man you see repairing watches in the Bright Street window of Geddes and Murray. Gordon came from Perth, W.A. , five years ago, is now married with two kiddies, and lives in Herbert Road. In 1959 he topped the Western Australian Government Exams for Practical Watch Repairing. In his spare time Gordon enjoys riding his surf board, a sport he has taken up since being in Gisborne.

....Dave Middlemiss, a carpenter for P. K. Phin, is married with one child. He lives in his new house, self built, at 254 Whitaker Street. Dave's spare time is occupied with tramping, deer stalking, and the territorial army, in which he holds the rank of Sergeant. He was educated at Boys' High.

....Mike Brittenden, sales rep at N.A.C. , lives with his wife at 181 Wainui Road. Active in local organisations, Mike is secretary of the Waikanae Beach Carnival Committee, and is an active member of Jaycee, Greater Gisborne, and the Aero Club. He holds a private Pilot license, and was educated at Boys' High.

.....Tony Ensor, 19, is a draper with his father's business in Elgin. Another ex-Boys' High pupil, he is about to leave on a month's trip to Australia. His interests include cars (he's a member of the Car Club), and shooting and hunting.

....Don Birchall is another Elginian by profession, but resides at 182 Stout Street. He is a joint-proprietor of the Elgin Foodmarket Educated at Marist Bros' College (prior to Edmund Campion College), Don's interests include rugby, cricket and music.
