The new deputy. Harbour Master, Captain Ian Cook, and family have arrived in Gisborne and taken up residence at 103 Rutene Road.
The captain, who comes from Greymouth, is pictured with his wife Elizabeth and daughters Janis, Rhona and Audrey.

Another family from the mainland who couldn't resist the lure of the fabulous East Coast is that of Owen and Colleen Williams and daughter Joanne.
Up on transfer to the National Bank of New Zealand, the family is living at 22 Kelvin Street.

After living in Gisborne for the past five years, the Kirbys are off to Palmerston North.
Denis Kirby of 58 Centennial Crescent, pictured with his wife Flora, and family Jennifer, Marlene and Anthony, has been Gisborne District Child Welfare Officer and is going on transfer to the Manawatu city in the same capacity.
