Off on a 2-year working holiday of England and the Continent are nurses Laurel Kirkham and Jan McConnell. Laurel is the daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Kirkham, Aorangi, Ruatoria, and Jan is the daughter of Mr and Mrs G. T. McConnell, Kowhai Street.

Also off overseas to Australia are these three Kiwis on a six months' working holiday.
They are John Newman, son of Mr and Mrs J. Newman, Waipaoa, Gary Brown, son of Mr and Mrs C. Brown, Matawai, and Dean Hollis, son of Mr and Mrs S. Hollia, Makaraka.

The daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Milllgan, 15 Parau Street, Christina Milligan had a distinguished school year in 1966. A pupil at St. Mary's Primary School she was first in class, was dux of the school and won the St. Mary's College scholarship which entitles her to three years free secondary education at St Mary's College.

Brad Patterson, 20, son of Mr and Mrs Richard Patterson of Makaraka, has bean awarded tee Schlaepfer Shield for the 1965-66 cricket season. The trophy was . donated by Bill Schlaepfer, a former member of H.S.O.B. cricket club, now living in Wellington, as an annual!award for the best club member.
