A real swinging Christmas party was held for the Jet set of the Gishorne Playcentre before Christmas where Santa Claus's rep, Harry Kyte, called in. Liane Bryon, Santa Claus, Christine Bryon and Mrs Maureen Thompson are at the back, little guest, Angela Hughes, Heidi Blenner-hassett, Stuart Robinson, Sonja Cowerd, Shelley Hughes, Stephen Light, Wendy Dewston, Marc Cooper, and another little guest are standing in the centre and Joanne Bound, yet another little guest, John Smith, Mark Bound and Pene Kaiwai are sitting in front.

Lou Patterson and son Gary brought in this giant puff-ball from Waerengaokuri. Found by them while mustering, the ball is 12in across and weighs 51bs.

Celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary are Marcel and Lila Bennett of 234 Lytton Rd.

Lyle Campbell brought this oversized hen egg in for our inspection. About three times the size of an ordinary sized egg we never did find out if it was more than a double-yolker as the hen demanded it back for posterity.
Lyle is the son of Geoff and Marina Campbell of 114 Clifford Street.
