Educated at St. Stephen's School, Auckland, and Te Rau Theological College, Gisborne, he was ordained in 1921, and consecrated Bishop of Waiapu" at St. John's proCathedral, Napier, in 1951.

With the Bishop is W. (Bill) Kaua, now of Rotorua, son of Mr P. Kaua, Gisborne, and the late Mrs M. Kaua.

Last year saw the 45th anniversary of Bishop Panapa's ordination into the Anglican clergy.

Formerly of Hauiti and now of Wainui-o-mata, Mr and Mrs Harry Amaru recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, Mrs Amaru was formerly Miss W. Waiwai of Waikaremoana, Wairoa.

The Tolaga Bay Voluntary Fire Brigade is now in its tenth year of operation and has made many good saves in that time.
Members of the brigade in the picture are Con Nelson, Arthur Barnett, Jack Nelson, Bert Smith, John Stewart, Ray Henry, Alec McGregor, Bert Lawrence, Ken Watson and Ray Lawrence.

The St. Emanuel church at Puketawai is now in a state of almost collapse and church services are now held in the meeting house where the Rev. R. Rabgiaho is seen conducting a service.
