Out And About

The Catholic Youth Festival was held in the city recently with representatives from throughout the Auckland district attending.

By painting murals on the sides of the baths, the Te Hapara school swimming teachers hope to increase the confidence of learners in the water, and also the interest of the pupils in swimming. Preparing the baths for filling are Peter Huntington, Wayne Walsh, Tim Lewis and Ross Candy.

At Gisborne Mills, Monk Bros. cranelifted a distribution auger to the top of the silos. The grain is elevated from a pit to the auger, then fed off into the selected silo by a series of slides and spouts (yet to be placed in position). At left the lift taking place, and right, John Benden, the company's fitter, makes a check before the hoist.
