Our Cover

Visiting Peter and Christine Kemp (nee Chrisp) at their orchard home in Papatu Road, Manutuke, we thought to photograph some citrus with Mrs Kemp to ornament the foreground. But somehow our camera, sensing beauty through the lens, kept edging closer until the oranges were forgotten and we had on film this compelling close-up of a fine profile.

Back Cover. Bob Hepburn took our colour camera along on the last oil-fired steam train to run out of Gisborne, and shot this "passing of an era" photograph down Waikokopu way.
