Married: In Gisborne, Margaret, daughter of Mr nnd Mrs J. Topping, 247 Stout Street, to William, son of Mrs M. Wheeler, Sussex, England, and the late Mr Wheeler.

Engaged: Sheryl Julie, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs V. Purchas, Naenae, to William Bunting, elder son of Mr and Mrs W. B. Shaw, 227 Stout Street.

Engaged: Sheryl Joyce, daughter of Mrs J. Parkinson, 1 Manuka Street, to Gerald, only son of the Reverend and Mrs O. Pcner-Brookes, Surfers Paradise, Australia. Sheryl was hairdressing in Gisborne before she went to Queensland where she learnt water skiing and worked as a hostess on her fiance's holiday cruiser "Aloha". They are due back in Gisborne in March and will wed then.
