Desmond Robinson, M.A., Dip. Ed., son of Mrs R. W. Ford, 66 Murphy Street, was recently awarded the first Fellowship granted by the Hamilton branch of the English Speaking Union.

Senior lecturer in geography and social studies at Hamilton Teachers College the award entitles Desmond to a lecture tour of Australia next year.

The daughter of Mr and Mrs R. A. Burgess, Patutahi, Marie Burgess has graduated from the Waikato Public Hospital where she has been doing her training.

Off on a working holiday, Marie leaves from Darwin shortly for South Africa and will then go on to England and the continent.

Graduating from Canterbury University is Robin Odams, son of Mr and Mrs G. H. Odams, 453 Aberdeen Road.

Obtaining his Bachelor of Engineering degree on graduating, Robin is now in Rotorua having taken a position there with the Ministry of Works.

Emerging as one of the top performers in the Gisborne Competitions Society's annual festival held last school holidays was Avon Poulsen, daughter.of Mr and Mrs J. W. Poulsen, 301 Aberdeen Road.
Among the numerous dancing prizes she won are the Phyllis Mary Scott Memorial Ballet Scholarship, Senior Ballet Championship, Margaret Hands Cup, the Society's Open Tap Dance and gained the highest individual marks in the festival.

Squadron Leader Peter Rule, son of Mr and Mrs Syd Rule, Douglas Street, is officially welcomed to the United Nations Command in Korea by General Dwight Beach. General Beach is Commander-in-Chief of the United Nations Command, and Commander of the United States Forces in Korea, while Squadron Leader Rule is the New Zealand Liaison Officer for 1966 at the Commonwealth Liaison Mission with the United Nations Command in Seoul.
