Commemoration Service
The 26th service to be held, commemorating the Battle of Britain, was observed at the Cenotaph on the l8th September.
There was a good attendance for the brief but impressive ceremony.
The official party is, from left, Mr F. S. Phillips (president of the Gisborne R.S.A. ), the Mayor, Mr H. H. Barker, Mr E. Sweeney (president Gisborne Air Force Association), Wing Commander I. J. Mitchell, and Flight Lieutenant A. King (Commandant of the Air Training Corps).
