Maori Competitions

Once again the standard of the entries in this year's Maori Competitions was high. Top-notch teams from the Gisborne area and the Coast competed and made the judges' task very difficult.

A new award in the Tuini Ngawai Memorial trophy was instituted, the handsome cup being given by the Te Hokowhiti Club of Tokomaru Bay. It will be awarded to the team gaining the most aggregate points in the Primary Championship.
