Call of the Wild

Getting off the beaten track of the city and suburbs offers the town members of the Gisborne Tramping Club many opportunities to enjoy the benefits of fresh air and exercise, the delights of exploring the bush and countryside and exploring the various rivers in canoes.

Sent in by Mr R. Faulkner, these pictures show some of the many places of interest visited by the club in the course of their trampings.

Club members on top of one of the spectacular cliffs at the summit of Mt Momoukai (2,007 ft), near Morere, and above, at the entrances to some of the limestone caves in the area.
