Makaraka Swings

It's the season for dressing up of course and the Makaraka school was no exception. They had a farewell, a fancy dress dance, a very cleverly mimed sketch, and a musical comedy all in one night.

Miss Marlene Turnbull left the school after 2½ years on the staff, the children were all in fancy dress, the sketch was a scream, and the Makaraka Palladium rocked to the applause for the production of "The Magic Wood", a song and story job about what happens to boys when they get too smart where little girls are concerned.
