Gisborne-Wairoa Relay
The annual harrier relay race from Wairoa to Gisborne took place under good conditions over the course. Good times were recorded and Mr Toby Drummond, president of the N.Z.A.A.A., made the presentations.
Tony Webley (president of the Gisborne Harriers); B. Flack, whose team, the Hawkes Bay Presbyterians, won the P. T. Smith Cup for the Open Handicap; Tony Curtis with the Stewart Shield, won by his team, the Napier Harriers, for the fastest time of 5 hours 28min 12sec; and Mr Drummond.
