Uttering his fervent cry, Willie Weka is again on the warpath. Two dressed wekas have been prepared, one for our adopted ship, the H.M.N.Z.S. Blackpool, and the other to be presented to the Lions when they play here on August 17. Those responsible for the completed models are, from left, Messrs G. Hutchins (who made the football), G. Moles (display case), V. Davy (taxidermy and mounting), Miss K. Campbell (costuming) and Messrs R. Berry (display case) and J. Burland (public relations). Mr P. Fisher (Wildlife Officer for Gisborne) obtained the birds and the Government licences and Mr J. C. Berridge supplied the pine bases.

The Gisborne Poultry Association opened its new premises, a grain store and a poultry abattoir, in Stanley Road recently. Those who spoke at the opening were, from left, Messrs G. W. Armstrong (manager of Farm Products), T. A. V. Bolton (chairman of directors), C. Wilkinson (president Gisborne Poultry Association) and R. Stokes (a director of Farm Products).
