Instead of witnessing a bout of good boxing as anticipated, Gisborne patrons were deprived of their expectations when Australian Terry Ball was disqualified in the fourth round of his match against Peter Lister. Holding and hitting his opponent, and shaping up to the referee, were the causes for disqualification.
