"Jolly Stockman" Saved

Prompt action by the Gisborne and Manutuke fire brigades saved the popular Jolly Stockman hotel from being destroyed in the early hours of June 30. The lounge bar and main entrance were the worst to suffer in the blaze, with the roof completely burnt out over this area.
