Car Trials. The Gisborne Car Club held a ¼ mile sprint at the Willows recently and some good times were recorded. Above is Terry Johnstone in the locally made Satellite Special which has an Ariel square four 1000 cc engine, while at left is Bruce Green in his G. T. Anglia.

Gyro-Copter Rally. Lack of wind at the airport was the unfortunate lot of the enthusiasts who gathered at Darton Field for the Gyrocopter Rally over the holiday weekend. However, some flights were made by the owners who congregated at the 'drome.
