Mr J. T. Dunlop (right), of Manga Station, is the last surviving foundation member of the Tolaga Bay Dog Trial Club. Pictured with him is the late Mr K. McIntosh, who was also a foundation member.

Three members of the Pioneer Battalion. At left is Mr TeW Wirihana, who was on Gallipoli and now lives at the Memorial Home in Gisborne. At centre is Mr K. Wharehinga who lives at Puketawai, and at right is Mr M. Maitai who lives at Arataha and attended the Pioneer Battalion Reunion in Tauranga.

Pine Taiapa (left), of Tikitiki, and Hori Tamihana, of Tolaga Bay, pictured when they were captains of the 1st and 2nd XV's respectively at Te Aute College in their school days. Pine played for Hawkes Bay in 1919-20, and for the Maori All Blacks and Tokomaru Bay in 1922. Both played for East Coast in 1921 and Hori played in the Tolaga Bay reps in 1927.
