Convincing Win To P.B.

Striking its best form for some time, the Poverty Bay rep team turned on a good display of attacking rugby when it defeated East Coast in the annual Queen's Birthday match at Rugby Park by 22 points to six.

Light rain and a slippery field did not prevent the home side from spinning the ball, and it was this approach which led to its six tries.

Right winger Keith Twigley, showing plenty of pace and determination, scored four of the tries, the others being made by flanker Ian Kirkpatrick and left winger Alan Lewis.
