12 year-old Carryne Anne Compton, of 401 Palmerston Road, has done very well in competition dancing during the last year. A pupil of Regency Blair Studios, she has won twelve cups, five of them at the Napier competitions.

Mrs Robin Hopkins, formerly Robin Dunn, of Gisborne, celebrated her 21st birthday at Akaroa where she now lives. Her mother Mrs J. F. Dunn, and sister, Mrs R. J. Baty, both of Gisborne, attended that town for the celebration.

Mr and Mrs E. W. Dyer, 21 Derby Street, celebrated their diamond wedding recently and are shown on that occasion reading congratulatory telegrams, one of which was from Buckingham Palace.
