The possibility of a Dutch Company formulating a plan for the establishment of a maize products industry in Gisborne was announced by the M.P. for the district, Mrs Esme Tombleson, at a meeting of the Gisborne Industrial Promotion Council. The overall plan provides for the use of 18,000 tons of maize annually for the production of over 16,000 tons of maize products. Present at the meeting and pictured with Mrs Tombleson are (from left), Messrs E. T. Gardner, A. L. Martin, J. Burland, J. F. Bullen and C. H. Cooper.
