On the left is Weti Te-Ao Tamihana taken with J. Hodge of Rotorua on arrival in Egypt from Crete where Weti suffered an eye injury from German paratroop strafing. Weti was later killed in action in the Tunisian campaign. Mr Hodge returned and still lives in Rotorua.

Dr D. Sinclair, who is now in practice in Hamilton, is seen opening the Tolaga Bay School Swimming Baths

Paul Smith, eldest son of Mr and Mrs B. Smith, who was one of the first pupils to swim in the baths. Paul is how a student at St Paul's College in Auckland.

Titi Tangohau, church warden of the Whangara Pastorate, and the Rev. B. Turei (Ruatoki) who was the former vicar of the combined parishes of Whangara and Tokomaru Bay. They are both now attending the Hui Topu at Tikitiki.
