An Award Of Distinction

Two sisters were presented with the highest award possible in the St. John Ambulance Brigade at a function at the Ambulance Rooms recently.

They were the 17-year-old twins Ngaire and Cecily Cowie who received the Grand Prior Badge which was presented to them by the Mayor, Mr H. H. Barker.

A contingent of cadets attended a competition in Napier recently and acquitted themselves very well. P. Glasby, T. Hamblyn, P. Lewis and W. Hamblyn were 3rd in the Overall Championship and 3rd in the First Aid Improvisation. D. Main was 3rd in Best No.2, J. Rogers was 2nd in Best No.4, L. Rhodes was 2nd in Best No.2, and R. Bates was 3rd in Best No.3.
