A Road To The Cove

Good progress is being made with the construction of a road to connect the East Cape lighthouse with the outside world. The contractors are A. Monk Ltd. Up till now motor vehicles have had to drive along the beach for four miles at low tide, fording a creek on the way. The new road will be an extension of the present road from Te Araroa.
