Travelling Lightly

×

To Makaraka. For the past 50 years, Mr Charlie Ferguson (Gisborne) and Mr Forde Smith (Toiaga Bay) have been regular attenders of race meetings held at the Makaraka course.

To National Park. Ministry of Works storekeeper, Mr P. G. Stewart, Mrs Stewart and daughter Shirley have left their residence at 117 Awapuni Road and will live in Buddo Street, National Park, to where Mr Stewart has been transferred.

To Australia and back. Judy Read, 108 Russell Street (left) and Carol Nickerson, Waerenga-a-hika, have recently returned from a four month working holiday across the Tasman. In the course of the trip they acquired a rather large koala, which appropriately enough bears the name of Sydney.

Having travelled lightly over the last 90 years, Mr Claud H. Williams celebrated his birthday with a family gathering at the Chalet Rendezvous. In our picture are, from left, Dr E. E. Williams (Rotorua), Mrs S. F. Overbye, Mr Williams, Mrs A. P. Pilkington and Mrs Williams.
