Grandmother's Album

A novel entertainment which resulted in some remarkably effective tableaux was staged recently in the Holy Trinity hall for a Mothers' Union birthday party and an Anglican Women's Association concert. Entitled "Pages from Grandmother's Album", it produced, for instance, this nostalgic study of the good old days when people knew their places and kept to them. Standing are Margaret Stevenson, Miriam Lawson and Marie Maynard; seated, Dianne Grey, Margaret Coleman, and Jeannette Grey.

As each picture was posed in golden frame, Mollie Jones, as grandmother (right), leafing through album, mused on the past, while unseen choir sang numbers appropriate to the occasion. In this wedding scene, Marie Maynard is the groom, and Beth Wells the bride.
