Pop Stars Welcomed By Teenagers

A large crowd of excited teenagers assembled at Darton Field recently to welcome to Gisborne their idols, Sandie Shaw, Eden Kane, and "The Pretty Things".

Because of the size of the crowd, the pop stars elected to ignore their fans and take a back route into the air terminal building.

The fans were not to be discouraged, and quickly had the entertainers bailed up inside a small room in the building where only strict police control saved them from being totally mobbed.
