Bernard Vette, son of Mr and Mrs L. R. Vette, 708 Aberdeen Road, who has left New Zealand to work for a year as a cabinetmaker in Copenhagen, Denmark. During his overseas trip, he will visit London, the Continent, and U.S.A.
Miss Raewyn (Rani) Normanton, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. E. Normanton, 15 Totara Street, has left Gisborne to attend the Continental Academy of Hairdressing, in Wellington.
Mr Chas W. Cowan, of Waerenga-a-hika, and formerly from the East Coast, recently celebrated his 80th birthday. Despite his age, Mr Cowan is still a keen and active glasshouse carnation grower.
Stephney Cooper, 10-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Burnley Cooper, 10 Tukura Road, displays a 9in mushroom she found near the Sponge Bay rifle range.
