Yes, its Poverty Bay's All Black John Collins blowing the whistle instead of obeying it in a schoolboys' rugby game at the Y.M.P. Club's benefit sports day at Manutuke on the day following Collins's selection to play in the first test against South Africa.

Collins's task as referee proved to be an unenviable one as the organisers of the game "did the dirty" on the ref by fielding both teams in identical jerseys.
