Chatham Cup District Final

In a thrilling match at the Childers Road Reserve, Eastern Union survived a strong challenge by the up-and-coming Riverina side to win the Poverty Bay district final of the Chatham Cup series by three goals to one.

The half-time score was one-nil in favour of Union, and although they scored two goals to thier opponents' one in the second spell, they by no means had things all their own way.

Goals for Union were scored by D. Jones, R. Bourne, and R. Mulrooney, with Riverina's coming from L. Benge.
