Shell Work Is Her Hobby

Mrs M. Williams, 13 Sievwright Lane, during the six months that she has been interested in shell work, has made more than 50 beautiful decorative pieces, ranging from items such as the doll pictured on our front cover, to brooches.

For her work, Mrs Williams has assembled a collection of hundreds of different types of shells, some coming from as far as England and the pacific Islands, but mainly from New Zealand and Gisborne beaches.

To make an arrangement, the shells are glued together- and are coated with varnish when completed.
