Miss Mollie Skillen, the well-known Gisborne pianist, who has accepted an invitation from the Director of Broadcasting to perform as a soloist with the National Orchestra in Wellington on August 23. Miss Skillen will play Beethoven's Concerto in C. Minor.

Mr and Mrs W. W. Burch, who recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a gathering of friends and relatives at the home of a son, Mr T. W. N. Burch, Wi Pere Street.

Mr Kevin Lynch, B.Com., who graduated from Auckland University in May, and has also gained a pass in his cost accounting examination. He is a son of Mr M. C. Lynch, 142 Russell Street.

Mr John A. Taylor, newly-appointed headmaster of Wadestown School, Wellington City, who for the past 12 years has been associated with education in East Coast settlements. During that period he has been head teacher at Whakaangiangi, senior secondary assistant at Te Araroa, and the headmaster at Te Kaha and Tokomaru Bay Maori District High Schools. Since 1946 he has been an honorary child welfare officer on the Coast, was a Church of England lay reader, and took an active interest in various youth and sports organisations on the Coast.
