Two ex-members of the Gisborne Repertory Society are at present taking part in the Hawera Society's major production, "The Diary of Anne Frank".

Gib is now photographer for the Hawera Star, and Ann is district nurse for the Hawera area.

Head prefect at Gisborne Boys' High School for this year is Hori Houkamau, son of Mr and Mrs Te Ua Houkamau, of Matakaoa Point, Hicks Bay.

Radio Station 2ZG recently held a "foreign commercial" competition, in which commercial announcements were read in different foreign languages, and listeners had to identify them. Several hundred entries were received, of which three correctly identified the ten languages used. The first correct answer opened was that from Mrs Jane Horne, of Stout Street, seen here with announcer Johnnie Shearer.
