Gala At Wainui

At the recent Wainui School gala a highlight of proceedings was the opening of the new swimming pool. Among the other attractions was a baby show.

Mrs Williamson cut the ribbon

Mr A. Williamson, riding member of the County Council, declared the baths open.

Demonstrating swimming in the new baths, which cost £2600. Of this, the parents raised £1800, including over £1500 in three months' intensive effort.

Baby Show winner (under 6 months): Mrs Vermeulen and Debbie.

Baby Show winner (6-12 months): Mrs Macdonald and James.

Baby Show winner (1-2 years): Mrs Stokes and Brent.
