Representative Surfers Selected

At a carnival at Waikanae Beach earlier this month, the Gisborne Surf Life-saving team to compete in the annual district championships at Wellington was selected.

The ten-man squad consisted of eight seniors and two juniors, all of whom came from the Waikanae Club.

At the championships, the team gained an overall placing of 4th, being beaten by the three main centres, Wellington (1st), Auckland (2nd), and Christchurch (3rd).
