Toll Aerial Tests

The Gisborne telephone exchange's proposed radio toll link with Napier came a step nearer to realisation recently when a team of aerial site testing men from Wellington conducted tests from the position of the terminal on Kaiti Hill.

Using a telescopic aerial mast, which can be extended to a height of 80ft, the team made radio contact with a repeater station at Mahunga, on the Whareratas, and determined the exact length of aerial needed for the job.
