Intermediate School Sports
The Gisborne Intermediate School recently held its annual athletic and tabloid sports day in gusty conditions. Elimination heats for the championship events had been held prior to the main day.
Watched by a good crowd of parents and other pupils, the sports were strongly , contested, especially in the last events of the day, the class and house relays.
Kevin Metcalf (Tawhiri) leads Phillip Duncan (Kahutia), Kevin Trotman (Te Ratu), and Harry Ngaira (Hinetu) home in the last leg of the junior boys' house relay.
Straining against the wind in the flying squadron were: Graham McKay and Rex Campbell.
