To Represent New Zealand

Two of the three Waikanae Surf Life-saving Club members who competed in the final national selection carnival at Wellington last month gained a berth to Australia with the New Zealand representative team. They are: Rob Turnbull, 27, who was elected captain, and Glen Sutton, 16, the top junior of the ten-man team.

Prior to their departure later this month, the two surfers are training daily, both in the water, and on the beach, under the coaching of Dick Glover, the Waikanae Club's senior coach.
