Top Award To Gisborne Model

Gisborne fashion mannequin, Margaret Whitehead, who burst onto the New Zealand modelling scene last year when she was selected to model in the annual "Gown of the Year" fashion parade, reached a new height in her career last month when she was presented with Tam Hill's "Best Model of the 1964 Gown of the Year" award. The daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. Whitehead, 24 Cochrane Street, Margaret is pictured modelling a wedding gown in the Opera House during her recent visit to Gisborne with the 1964 "Gown of the Year" show. Margaret will wear a wedding gown for a different reason on 1st February next year, when she will marry an Auckland health inspector, Mr David Haigh.
