Banks And Solander Display

A display of New Zealand native plants and animal life, centred around the works and findings of the two famous botanists, Sir Joseph Banks and Dr D. C. Solander, when they visited New Zealand in 1769 on Captain James Cook's discovery voyage, was staged in the War Memorial Hall for two days last month.

Organised by Mrs R. J. M. Coates and Miss D. Ritchie, for the benefit of Greater Gisborne, the display created much interest in the city, and was well supported.

Several competitive sections for school children were also included in the display.
