Former Gisborne cyclist Neil Robinson has been riding with considerable success in recent months. He is pictured being congratulated by Toni Cook after he won the 55-mile road race from Rotorua to Golden Springs and return last month. Starting from the scratch mark, Robinson rode brilliantly to defeat several N.Z. Olympic Games cyclists.

Denis Gear, a member of the five-strong Gisborne Boys' High School gymnastics team which travelled to Nelson recently to compete in the N.Z. Gymnastic Championships, is pictured competing in the trampoline event. Gear was placed 8th, and his team-mate John Callaghan, the former N.Z. champion, gained second place.

Two large ocean racing yachts are at present under construction in Gisborne. Mr R. Otway is pictured lofting the 44ft Ventura, which is to be built by Mr Dave Herman, who raced the locally made Sayonara in the N.Z. to Noumea yacht race earlier this year. Mr Otway is also building himself a 41ft racer to sail in the trana-Tasman race in which he competed two years ago with his Ceceline.
