An unusual view of picturesque Tokomaru Bay, taken from Toira, the fortified peak overlooking the southern end of the bay, which was the scene of many battles in the Maori wars of the early days.


The East Coast primary schools' sub-union sports day, held at Tokomaru Bay recentiy, resuited in wins for the home teams, the girls winning the basketball shield, and the boys, the Dewes Cup for the rugby.
