Training For Tokyo

The six members of the New Zealand Olympic horse-jumping squad, from which four will be selected to represent their country at the forthcoming games at Tokyo, assembled in Gisborne during the Queen's Birthday weekend for a two-day training course under the command of former Hungarian representative, Mr C. Bolgar, of Hastings.

Included in the squad are three Gisborne riders, Messrs Charles Matthews, Graeme Hansen, and Bruce Hansen, who have all represented New Zealand on previous occasions.

Following the two days of training, an Olympic trial was held at the showgrounds, watched by the five national selectors.
