Mr M. A. Newman, of Totara Station, sent in these pictures of some of the fish he caught while holidaying at Mahia. At left, Mr Newman is pictured with his children, Mary and Torn, with 12 snapper.... the result of one expedition. At right, he is seen with a five-foot Mako shark.

Mrs Rona Keslake, of Melbourne, Australia, and formerly of Tolaga Bay, and sister of George Thompson, of "Roving Hori" fame, sent us this picture of herself (left) with Mrs Ngaro and Miss Suki King, of 195 Rutene Road, Gisborne. The Kings were visiting her for a few days.

Mrs T. J. McCreedy, 594 Gladstone Road, sent in this snap of a pole-sitting competition in progress in Kawerau recently. The winning pole-sitter was a woman who lived in her lofty little house for 40 days to claim the prize money of £100.
