The Gisborne St. John Ambulance Association cadet team which competed with credit at the Hawkes Bay and Wanganui first-aid competitions recently. At Hawkes Bay, the team gained second and third placings in the Hastings open first-aid competition, in which 23 teams competed. A member, Ross Ellis, claimed third place from 98 entrants. The team will compete in the district eliminations at H.B. later in the year, and then hopes to travel to the N.Z. finals at Wanganui. Members are, from left: Cadet Officer Barry Hamblyn, Cadets Lester Sinton, John Neal, Martyn Harvey, Ross Ellis, Raymond Stevenson, and Cadet Officer Roger May.

Gisborne members of C.O.R.S.O., Messrs Graham Laws, Keith Simpson, Fred Phillips (treasurer), and Ian Olliver, busy counting the proceeds from the house-to-house canvass of the city in the P.R.O. hall on a recent Saturday afternoon. The final total for the district came close to last year's record amount.
