"Miss New Zealand" Stage Show

Sixteen beautiful girls, the district finalists in the 1964 "Miss New Zealand" contest, appeared on stage at the Opera House on a recent Saturday night before a capacity audience. They were taking part in the nation-wide tour leading up to the finals of the competition in Dunedin on 1st June.

Interviewed by Neville Chamberlain, of "Cham the Man" radio fame, the girls spoke of their various districts.

"Miss New Zealand 1963", Elaine Miscall, introduced the girls as they appeared on stage.

Supporting the show were top New Zealand artists Anthony Williams, John Hore, Allini, and the Howard Morrison Quartet. The musical backing was done by the Nick Smith Combo.
